As part of our community give back program, we operate many free community WiFi hot spots around the lake region here in Southside Virginia. Below you will find a link to each of our free community WiFi hot spots with a map of the hot spot locations. The hot spots are not intended or designed to replace your business or residential internet service, rather it is a community service we provide for folks that are out and about or need to use it on a temporary basis. The hot spots are for limited use and each have a set time frame for you to use, after the time or bandwidth limit is reached you will be logged out an not able to access the system for a period of time. If you need to use our service for an extended period of time for work or school, please call our office to work something out.
Although your device will roam from one hot spot location to another, you will see a slower speed and possibly a drop depending on your speed and where you are. The best way to use our service is parked in a designated area near the hot spot. If you do roam to another area, you may need to turn your WiFi off and back on in order for your device to properly register on the closer hot spot. Some devices may still see and hold onto the weaker WiFi signal for a period of time until it see’s there is a stronger closer signal, thus causing a much slower speed.
